Preparing for your surgery
- Please arrange in advance for a responsible adult to drive you home and remain with you the first 24 hours after surgery. You may not drive yourself home or be left alone if you have had anesthesia during your procedure.
- A nurse from the surgery center will contact you by telephone no later than the day before your surgery to review your medical history, talk with you about your procedure, and answer any questions you may have.
- When you speak with the nurse, please notify him/her if you have been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea disorder, have an allergy or any other medical condition that you think may affect your surgery.
- Our surgery schedule is finalized the afternoon before your surgery date. Our staff will make every effort to call you in advance with the specific arrival time for your surgery, however, if we have not spoken with you by the day before your surgery, please call us at (256) 736-1812 or (256) 736-2811 between the hours of 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM Monday - Friday.
